Bearing Witness: Indiana’s death penalty

Join us for a panel discussion about the death penalty in Indiana, moderated by the Indiana Catholic Conference. The discussion will address questions such as:

  • What is the status of the death penalty in Indiana?
  • How do executions affect the people closest to them?
  • What does the Church say about the death penalty?
  • What are the financial and human costs of the death penalty?

Panelists will include:
Steve Schutte – Attorney for the Indiana State Public Defender
Doris Parlette – former Superintendent, Indiana Department of Corrections; Board Member, Indiana Abolition Coalition
Sister Barbara Battista – Sisters of Providence, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods; spiritual advisor and witness to the executions of Keith Dwayne Nelson and Will LeCroy
